Your health insurance plan should cover skin cancer reconstruction surgery. However, every plan is different, so we recommend that you contact your insurer for pre-certification before surgery is performed.
Dr. Bridge will restore your skin as closely and naturally to its pre-cancer appearance as possible. However, visible scars at incision sites are likely, though we strive to minimize these as much as possible. Following your reconstruction, you may also notice textural, color or other visible differences of the skin. We will recommend treatments you may wish to consider which can help to restore your skin to its pre-surgery condition.
Healing times will vary from patient to patient, depending on the scope of your reconstruction surgery. Dr. Bridge will let you know what to expect during your recovery as part of your consultation and follow-up appointments.
