FAQs: Breast Augmentation
In Abilene, TX

Which types of implants do you offer?

Dr. Bridge uses silicone gel implants for most breast augmentation procedures.

How do I know which size to choose?

During your personal consultation, we will give you sizers to try on so you can test how each size feels. Dr. Bridge is an expert at achieving flattering, natural-looking enhancement that blends seamlessly with your natural contours.

Will I have to stay overnight at the hospital?

Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure. The procedure itself can be done in a couple of hours, though you should plan to spend the day at the hospital since you will have to be prepped for your procedure. You will be taken to a recovery room following your breast augmentation.

What kind of anesthetic will I need for my breast augmentation in Abilene, TX?

This procedure typically requires general anesthesia. For this reason, we recommend you ask a friend or loved one to transport you home from your breast augmentation procedure.

How long do I have to wait before returning to regular activities?

Each patient is unique, but in most cases, we recommend that you wait up to 2 weeks before returning to work and engaging in light activity. You should wait at least six weeks before returning to vigorous activity.

Will I have to wear any special garments following my breast augmentation?

We ask that you wear a surgical support bra for about two weeks following your procedure. This will aid in healing and provide the support needed for your breasts to take on the proper shape and balance.

Can I still breastfeed after a breast augmentation?

This can vary patient-to-patient. Some patients may be able to breastfeed after having had a breast augmentation; others may not.

Do I still need to get mammograms after breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation procedures are not a replacement for regular mammograms and health screenings. You will still be able to get a mammogram, and should do so at regular intervals. When you get a mammogram, inform the technician that you have a breast implant or implants, so that the proper views can be obtained.

How do I get started with my breast augmentation procedure?

The best way to start is with a consultation. Call us at 325.670.5320 or fill out our consultation request form online.
